Buddy Up Tennis Took Center Court - Saturday, August 21, 2010
Buddy Up Tennis travelled to the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters Tennis Match near Cincinnati, Ohio to share in a one-hour clinic with various members of the Cincinnati Down syndrome community. Buddy Up Athletes, Buddies, and Coaches then moved to center court to demonstrate their awesome tennis skills immediately before the Men’s Semi-Finals matches. We had a great time and, former tennis pro and Tennis Channel commentator, Justin Gimelstob, even stopped by and helped us celebrate our magical day! Buddy Up thanks the United States Tennis Association for inviting us to participate in this special event.

Halloween Party - Columbus - Saturday, October 30, 2010
Everyone had a spooky (and fun) time at our 2nd annual Halloween Party. Our Athletes and Buddies came dressed in great costumes. We enjoyed our regular tennis clinic, plus scooter races, mummy races, and much more spooky fun. Afterwards, we all took a break for some pizza and other Halloween treats!

Buddy Up Tennis Cincinnati Kick Off Event - Saturday, October 16, 2010
We had a great turn out for our first clinic in Cincinnati. We had 18 Athletes (which is more than we had for our first event in Columbus), and everyone had a great time. We are off to a wonderful start! We were happy to see and meet lots of new Athletes, Buddies, and their families and we are looking forward to growing and improving the program each week. Buddy Walk Demonstration - Columbus - Sunday, October 3, 2010
The Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio (DSACO) held its annual Buddy Walk on Sunday, October 3, 2010 and it was a great success. Despite the cold weather, they had a great turn-out and raised lots of money to support their organization. Buddy Up had a booth to help support DSACO and everyone who stopped by had lots of fun.

1st Fundraiser - Wine Tasting & Chocolate Making - Thursday, September 23, 2010
Buddy Up Tennis supporters enjoyed great wine, chocolate, entertainment, and good company at our 1st fundraising event, which was held at Cher Bliss in Gahanna. Over 30 guests enjoyed wines from the Gerard Bertrand Vinyard in France, along with some amazing magic and comical commentary from Mark Fine, its US Director. It was anything but your typical pretentious wine tasting! Thanks to all who participated, over $3,000 was raised for Buddy Up Tennis.

1st Harper’s Point Clinic - Cincinnati - Saturday, November 6, 2010
All of our new Cincinnati Athletes enjoyed themselves at our first clinic at the Club at Harper’s Point. It didn’t take long for everyone to get comfortable at our new location and to start having fun! Of course, we did lots of tennis drills and we also had fun with the parachute, relay races, and many other exercises. A special thank goes out to Steve, Mario, and Katie Contardi and their staff at Harper’s Point, all of our volunteer Buddies (including numerous Buddies from Xavier University), and our Athletes and their families for making this first clinic at Harper’s Point such a great event.

October Clinic - Columbus - Saturday, October 23, 2010
Our October 23rd clinic was one of our best yet. Our Athletes who participate on a regular basis were out in full force showing off all of their tennis skills and we met many Athletes and Buddies. Thanks to all who participated!

Christmas and Holiday Clinic - Columbus - Saturday, December 18, 2010
Our Christmas and Holiday Clinic was lots of fun. We were happy to welcome several new Athletes and see that many came dressed to spread holiday cheer. We are proud to see all of the progress and development that each and every one of our Athletes has accomplished this year. We are looking forward to more success in 2011!

Buddy Thank You Party - Columbus - Tuesday, December 21, 2010
We had our annual Buddy Thank You Party for our younger Buddies this year at Sky Zone. Everyone had a great time jumping and bouncing until they were exhausted. Thank you to all of our Buddies to make Buddy Up Tennis such a success.

Valentine’s Day & Minute To Win It Party - Columbus - Saturday, February 12, 2011
All of us had a fantastic time at our Valentine’s Day party. After our regular clinic, we everyone had a great time playing “Minute To Win It” games --- especially Beth, who spent many hours testing and preparing the games we played!!!!

Cincinnati Clinic - Club at Harper’s Point - Saturday, March 12, 2011
Everyone had a ball at our March 12th clinic in Cincinnati. A special thanks to our Columbus Coaches (Amanda, Kate, Keegan, Mike, and Will) who donated their entire Saturday to Buddy Up Tennis in Columbus and Cincinnati.

End of Season Party - Columbus - Saturday, May 21, 2011
Our Athletes, Buddies, and their families and friends all had a blast at our End of Season Party in Columbus. Over 150 people attended. Each of our Athletes performed a demonstration to show off the tennis skills he or she learned during the year for all to see and enjoy. We are so proud of our Athletes and the tremendous progress they made this year. We then had a great party, complete with a giant inflatable, face painting, balloon toys, a photo booth, lots of food, and much more. Cincinnati End of Season Party - Club at Harper’s Point - Saturday, May 14, 2011
At our end of season party, we celebrated the progress and success of our Cincinnati Athletes. We started with our regular clinic, with an individual demonstration by each Athlete to showcase their progress. We then had a party where the Athletes played tennis games, won prizes, spent their “Buddy Bucks”, and finished with a pizza party. It was a great afternoon of fun.

All of the Athletes, Buddies, and Coaches had a blast at our demonstration at the Western & Southern Financial Group Master’s & Women’s Open on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Linder Family Tennis Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was a very special day for our Athletes to celebrate and demonstrate in front of hundreds of people the tremendous progress they made all year. Buddy Up Tennis extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone that made this day so wonderful, including all of our Athletes, Buddies, Coaches, the USTA (especially Jim Amick), DSACO, DSAGC, and the Linder Family Tennis Center. We all had a wonderful and magical day.

Our 1st Clinic in Pittsburgh - Saturday, September 17, 2011
Our first clinic in Pittsburgh was our strongest kick-off clinic yet. We had 13 special Athletes and lots of Buddies and Coaches on hand to help make it a wonderful day. Thank you to all who participated and made it happen. We are looking forward to much more fun, progress, and development for all of our Pittsburgh Athletes. Be sure to spread the word so we can share our program with more Athletes and recruit more Buddies and Coaches in Pittsburgh.

DSACO Buddy Walk - Columbus - Sunday, September 18, 2011
The Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio (DSACO) held its annual Buddy Walk on Sunday, September 18th. Buddy Up Tennis (together with the USTA) were there to help support DSACO and to introduce Buddy Up Tennis to more members of the Columbus Down syndrome community. Thanks to who made this event a tremendous success for DSACO and Buddy Up Tennis.

A Spooky Time at Our Columbus Halloween Clinic - October 22, 2011
We had our annual Halloween Party on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Many of our Athletes, Buddies, and Coaches came dressed in their favorite costumes to celebrate. After our regular clinic, we had many fun games and activities, such as mummy wrap races, scooter races, and more. Our Athletes were also rewarded with the opportunities to trade their well-earned Buddy Bucks for great prizes.

Buddy Up Tennis Recognized by the GCTA - Thursday, September, 30, 2010
On Thursday, September 30, 2010, Beth Gibson of Buddy Up Tennis received a Special Recognition Award at the Greater Columbus Tennis Association’s (GCTA) Award Ceremony for her efforts with Buddy Up Tennis in supporting tennis in the Columbus community. Jim Amick from the United States Tennis Association (USTA) was on hand to present Beth with her award. Way to go Beth! Buddy Up Tennis thanks the GCTA and the USTA for their continued support.

Beth Gibson Receives the Lee Gillespie Award - Sunday, November 6, 2011
On Sunday, November 6, 2011, Beth Gibson, the founder and the heart and soul of Buddy Up Tennis, received the Lee Gillespie Award for being the non-tournament player who contributed the most to tennis in 2011 for her work and dedication to Buddy Up Tennis in Columbus, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh. Jim Amick from the United States Tennis Association (USTA) presented Beth with her award and delivered an inspiring speech. We are grateful to the USTA, the Greater Columbus Tennis Association, and the Ohio Valley Tennis Association for their continued generous support of Buddy Up Tennis.

We Had a Blast With the OSU Women’s Tennis Team - Saturday, November 19, 2011
Everyone at Buddy Up Tennis would like to thank The Ohio State University Women’s Tennis team for a very special clinic. They were great Buddies during our regular clinic and then performed an inspiring and entertaining demonstration with our coaches. Our coaches have already asked for a re-match next year!
